A fine wingers try

As I said last week; what a difference a few squad changes can make.
This week we saw the welcome return of Jake Bentley and his trusty right foot in the centre alongside Ollie Eaves at stand off.
Through the match, Eaves found space with testing chips forward for the backs to chase and gather.
In the pack Jay Walsh and Will Bowie in the second row made a lot of ground, always supported by Sam Featherstone or flankers Noel and Harry Gilson. The latter made an unstoppable partnership; always in support, first to the breakdown or making one of many crunching tackles.
The afternoon saw a total of eight tries from Otliensians. The first courtesy of full back Connor Bateman, with a lovely meandering run down the left wing, leaving the Knaresborough backs in his wake. Jake Bentley was on good form throughout the afternoon adding a total of 8 points thanks to his accurate kicking.
Tries were also scored by cousins Harry and Noel Gilson, Will Bowie, winger Ethane Heede, centre Craig Nicols, captain Sam Featherstone and lastly Micheal Groves.
On the whole a very enjoyable game and Knaresborough fought on ‘till the very end. The game saw very few penalties and was controlled well by a refreshingly competent referee, which in Yorkshire Four is sometimes a rarity!
Please come support next week where we face York RI at home. 3pm KO.
