Old Otliensians RUFC would encourage all members to support The Otley Neighbourhood Plan and vote YES in the Referendum on Thursday 20th February.

Neighbourhood Plans, once adopted after a referendum, require developers to properly take into account the stated wishes of the community. They don’t stop development but they do help to shape it. The Plan sets out how the council and other community groups would like Otley to be, as a sustainable market town with facilities that are suitable for a changing world.

The Plan determines sports facilities in the East of Otley referring specifically to rugby playing facilities and The Old Showfield as the ground for Otley Town AFC. All these facilities need to be energetically secured and guaranteed now and for future generations.

More information is available on the www.otleytowncouncil.gov.uk website and we would encourage members to read the detail to help make their choice. This isn't a Referendum in support of development in Otley, rather, it is to prevent developers (who want a NO vote) getting all of their own way.

Therefore, it is the hope of Old Otliensians RUFC that you are able to look at the information and decide to vote YES on Thursday 20th February.
