ENSIANS EARN DRAW WITH LAST KICK OF GAME
OTLIENSIANS 18points v WETHERBY 18 points

There
were several changes, mostly positional, from the team listed in the
programme,
Captain Sam Gray played in the centre making way for youngster Jack Smith
in the second row and Toby Gillatt played on the left wing.
Ensians had problems getting and controlling possession against a bigger
Wetherby pack and conceded a penalty to go 3points behind after five
minutes. However with Ensians
making progress into the Wetherby half of the pitch, and some promising
runs by lively scrumhalf Rob Lofthouse, the home side were awarded a
penalty which was converted by Kristin Keinhorst to bring the scores level
on 10 minutes
After further pressure Wetherby scored an unconverted try on 20 minutes,
leaving the half time score at 8 points to 3 to the visitors.
The second period continued in much the same way with Wetherby spending
more time in the Ensians half which led to them scoring a further try
which was converted to put them further ahead at 15 points to 3
However Ensians were coming more into the game and after a bout of passing
amongst the backs a strong run by centre Nathan Rogers led to him scoring
an unconverted try giving a score of 15 points to 8 in favour of Wetherby.
As the game headed into the last 10 minutes further attacking play from
the home side saw Iuean Cranswick run in a try which, when converted by
Kristian Keinhorst, brought the scores level at 15 points all.
In the last 5 minutes Wetherby scored a penalty goal to put them ahead
again but an excellent penalty was kicked by Kristian Keinhorst, to bring
the scores level at 18 points each after which the referee blew the final
whistle.
